Will upgrading to OS X Lion break existing Java applications?

Hello folks,

I am new to the macosx-port-dev mailing list. I would like to thank all of you for the work that you are doing with the OpenJDK project.

I have a question regarding the upcoming Lion release. Since this is an upgrade, will existing Java applications work after upgrading or will the upgrade remove the current Java support?

Is the OpenJDK port to Mac OS X stable and ready for Lion?

I am a contributor to the eXist Open Source XML database project (http://exist-db.org) and it runs on the JVM. I would like to be able to inform our community on whether to upgrade to Lion or to hold off.

Thank you,

Loren Cahlander
