We're aware of the problem, and intend to address it.  We haven't done enough work to be confident of the full impact/scope yet.  As we know more we'll share what we can.  

If anyone has input on this -- whether it is contributing to the implementation of a solution, or just identifying specific scenarios that need to be addressed -- it would be a big help.  The existing CR that Mike filed is an umbrella bug, and the first step is to understand the scope of the problem.  Where does HiDPI cause rendering issues?  Are there non-visual problems like performance or reliability?  You can file additional issues for specific cases and link them as related issues under 7124410.
