London group looking at "perl" on the MLVM

Hi,
A small group of developers in London are starting to look at implementing a
version of perl on the MLVM. We're aware that we're likely to have both
syntactic and semantic issues (due to perl's somewhat idiosyncratic nature)
but we thought we'd try anyway, and just see how far we can get and what we
learn along the way.
I've posted about it here:
http://boxcatjunction.blogspot.com/2009/04/state-of-play-for-perlish-poc.htmland
including links to a talk I gave to London.pm (the London Perl Users
Group) last week.
We're organising a date to get together in real life and hack on this - and
just wanted to throw the invitation open to anyone on these lists who wanted
to come along and help - or just exchange information and understanding
about the new dynamic features that we're leveraging.
Please mail me offlist if you'd like to come along, and let's work on a list
of dates.
Charlie: Do you think anyone on the jruby list might be interested? I've
certainly learned a lot from our conversations and from reading the jruby
source, but didn't want to crosspost to too many groups at once.
Thanks,
Ben
