indy and jython not getting along

I'm running on Linux, so the bsd-ports wouldn't apply (right?) -- are
there any MLVM additions needed right now?  The example I showed runs
as long as the Jython code doesn't get executed (and the Jython code
runs as long as the indy call is commented out)
