The current logic is 2x faster on the 5/13 build (b141ish maybe?) of
macosx port than on MLVM as of Tuesday. I'll update to latest MLVM and
see what the situation is.

I also can get asm dumps from that 5/13 build, which I'll post
(alongside current asm dumps) in the next 24hrs or so.
