The idea is to delay some resizing actions until we are mapped on the screen. Without this, a linux app run over ssh -X would show up with a minimum size as the intermediate size over road the requested size.

Note: there is some extra resizing that is really visible still that I have not removed, but will need to be in a follow on Jira.
