font color fringes on macOS, not a priority?

I updated the bug report to remove the "on non-retina" in the title, 
along with magnified details of the four original screenshots for proof:

I'm starting to think the best fix might be to remove sub-pixel 
rendering entirely, just as Apple did, at least for JavaFX on macOS.
