I'm sorry for the delay, in addition to working on JCE, I am also the 
JSN (Java Security and Network team) gatekeeper, and have had my hands 
rather full making the mercurial transition.  Being out for a bit didn't 
help any either.  :)

Anyway, I need to check on how a couple process-related things are 
supposed to be handled, and then I'll be able to talk with you more 
about this.
