I am *not* planning to wait for the JEP. (My perhaps cynical prediction is that it will be treated as a low-priority, bike-shedding playground which is unlikely to progress to its final stage for a year or so…)

The point of the informational JEP is that it is a living document. If the code changes, we can update the JEP. The JEP as it stands right now describes the code base as it will look when this PR is integrated. 

And yes, I’m open for more updates/changes in the future if we find the need. Things like code structure is something which we impose on the source code to be helpful. If it works against our best interests, we need to change it. And sometimes it’s hard to get things right the first time around.
