we ran into an actual problem with the Mercurial repositories being http:
instead of https:
Partly due to Google's initiative, http is increasingly seen as being
insecure, and so it is no surprise that a google-internal mercurial
mirroring tool refused to work with the openjdk mercurial repositories.
(Meanwhile, other content served by Oracle, like the javadocs, has migrated
to https)
