The use of ‘?’ as a parameter marker in several databases as well as JDBC and ODBC didn’t stop the SQL standard from using it in MATCH RECOGNIZE.

I have opened the discussion with Oracle’s SQL standard team and so far they think the request is reasonable. Which is not to say that anyone has agreed to anything.
