As I've said before, the illumos community wish to support an illumos port;
Solaris-like, with the gcc toolchain, but x86 only. That is not the current
Solaris
port, but clearly overlaps with it to an extent.
The question is how to do that - should we target this as a new port, or
somehow
inherit parts of the existing port? And is a project proposal to the
porters group
the appropriate mechanism to get this off the ground?
