That does make things easier in deciding what tag is the final one, especially
when we tend to get ones after GA (e.g. jdk8u192-b25, jdk8u201-b79).
Following this CPU, I do have a request for another new tag. There seems to be
no tag in the updates tree for when it is branched for the next release. A
jdk8uxxx-rdp2/jdk-xx.0.x-rdp2 would be most welcome. I noticed with 11 this
time, that I ended up having to manually apply a bunch of non-security fixes
that were in the jdk-updates tree, but there was no way to pull them in
through a defined tag. Having *-rdp2 as a base for applying CPU patches
ahead of time would be helpful and ensure our final version is closer to
what Oracle eventually push upstream.
Thanks,
