Yes, I've seen this. It doesn't explain why the 8u66 page [0] says
'Fork for the stabilization forests' if you don't plan to do so.
Is this a mistake?

But 8 is hardly in final stages. It's currently the only supported OpenJDK
release; there is nothing after it yet. If a bug needs to be fixed, it has
to go in 8 as a minimum in order to get to end-users.
If OpenJDK 8 is being supported until at least September 2017 [1],
then there will be at least 16 releases (8 CPUs with two releases per CPU).
I don't think that meets anyone's definition of 'a few'.

This document still refers to a 'dedicated (stabilization) jdk8u$N forest'.
But you've said this won't be created going forward?
It seems that some of this documentation needs updating.
